Wild red raspberry
Rubus idaeus L. var. aculeatissimus Regal + Tiling
Plant Description:
- Prairie bush with a bristly stem, growing up to 2 m tall
- Dark green leaves of 5 leaflets
- Small white flowers produce a small, red and round fruit
- Occurs in open-forest, areas of shade, and riverbanks
- Berries used in jams, pies, and syrups
- Wilted leaves are poisonous, but dried ones are not
- Found at Stop 12
