Bearberry
Arctostaphylos uva-ursi (L.) Spreng.
Plant Description:
- Creeping shrub that covers the ground like a mat
- Leaves are a dark, shiny green
- Pinkish-white flowers are cup shaped
- Bright red berries
- Occurs on eroded slopes and on sandy hills
- Tea, if used frequently, can cause stomach and liver problems
- Found at Stops 1 and 2
