Wood's rose
Rosa woodsii Lindl.
Plant Description:
- Less common bush than other rose species; growing up to 2 m tall
- Stem covered in straight or curved spines
- Leaves composed of 5 to 9 leaflets
- Flowers are pink and the fruit is round
- Found in ravines, moist areas and sandy slopes
- Rose petals are edible
- Found at Stop 1 - on Interpretive Nature and Hiking Trails, and at Stops 4, 6, 7, 9, and 12
