Wild bergamot
Monarda fistulosa L.
Plant Description:
- Upright, conspicous mint growing up to 1 m tall
- Leaves are opposite from each other and round bottomed which narrow to a point at the tip
- Very noticeable, hairy, purple-pink flowers at the stem top
- Gives off an aromatic fragrance
- Widespread along roadsides, dry prairies, meadows and slopes
- Found at Stops 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11
