White beardtongue
Penstemon albidus Nutt.
Plant Description:
- Sturdy, upright plants with hairy stems, growing up to 30 cm tall
- Occurs on dry prairies and slopes
- Lower leaves are stalked; upper leaves are stalked and sword-shaped
- Stems end in a spiked inflorescence of white, sticky and hairy flowers
- Found at Stop 1 - on the Interpertive Nature Trail
