Western shining willow
Salix lasiandra Berth.

 

Plant Description:

  • Tall bushes, growing 1 to 6 m with brown bark and twigs that are reddish-brown
  • Elongated oval-shaped leaves
  • Found on riverbanks, wetlands and in ravines
  • Used in Greece over 2000 years ago for pain relief as it contains a chemical similar to aspirin
  • Found at Stops 3, 6, 7, and 8
