Western shining willow
Salix lasiandra Berth.
Plant Description:
- Tall bushes, growing 1 to 6 m with brown bark and twigs that are reddish-brown
- Elongated oval-shaped leaves
- Found on riverbanks, wetlands and in ravines
- Used in Greece over 2000 years ago for pain relief as it contains a chemical similar to aspirin
- Found at Stops 3, 6, 7, and 8
