Twining honeysuckle
Lonicera dioica L. var. glaucescens (Rydb.) Butt.
Plant Description:
- Widespread, woodland shrub
- Oval leaves are oppposite to each other and joined at the base
- Yellow flowers form a cluster at the end; fruits are red berries
- Stem can be used in a tea to treat flu
- Eating honeysuckle can cause nausea
- Found at Stop 1 - on the Interpretive Nature and Hiking Trails, and at Stop 6
