Twining honeysuckle
Lonicera dioica L. var. glaucescens (Rydb.) Butt.

 

Plant Description:

  • Widespread, woodland shrub
  • Oval leaves are oppposite to each other and joined at the base
  • Yellow flowers form a cluster at the end; fruits are red berries
  • Stem can be used in a tea to treat flu
  • Eating honeysuckle can cause nausea
  • Found at Stop 1 - on the Interpretive Nature and Hiking Trails, and at Stop 6
