Smooth sweet cicely
Osmorhiza aristata (Thunb.) Mak. + Yabe
Plant Description:
- Woodland plant with smooth stems, growing up to 90 cm tall
- Leaves split into three's with pointed tips and toothed edges
- Small, white flowers in shape of umbrellas
- Roots can be ground up into a flour or used in a wash for newborns
- Found at Stop 1 - on the Hiking Trail
