Scarlet mallow
Malvastrum coccineum (Pursh) Gray.
Plant Description:
- Plant with a woody base, growing up to 20 cm tall
- Widespread in disturbed and dry prairies; found in large clusters
- Roughly rounded leaves of wedge-shaped leaflets, covered with white hairs
- Distinct orange-red flowers
- Found at Stops 1, 2, 5, 7, and 11
