Scarlet gaura
Gaura coccinea Pursh
Plant Description:
- Upright, hairy, dry prairie flower growing up to 30 cm tall
- Many small, sword-shaped, stalkless leaves
- Flowers in spikes at end of stems; flowers initially white but turn scarlet within a few hours.
- Flowers at bottom open up first and progress up the flower spike
- Found at Stops 1 and 2
