Plant Description:

  • Upright, hairy, dry prairie flower growing up to 30 cm tall
  • Many small, sword-shaped, stalkless leaves
  • Flowers in spikes at end of stems; flowers initially white but turn scarlet within a few hours.
  • Flowers at bottom open up first and progress up the flower spike
  • Found at Stops 1 and 2
