Plant Description:

  • Low-growing, hairy, prairie plant with highly branched, leafy stems and a woody taproot, growing up to 60 cm tall
  • Grayish-green, sword-shaped leaves
  • Flowers are yellow ray florets
  • Occurs on dry, sandy prairies and hillsides
  • Found at Stops 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9
