Gaillardia aristata Pursh.

 

Plant Description:

  • Widespread, prairie flower with a hairy stem, growing up to 60cm tall
  • Solitary flower heads on stem tip that tend to droop; yellow ray florets surround a protruding, round red-brown disc
  • Gray, hairy lower leaves and few, smaller, stalkless, upper leaves
  • Found at Stops 1, 2, 7, 9, and 10
