Golden-bean
Thermopsis rhombifolia (Nutt.) Richardson
Plant Description:
- A highly noticeable, prairie legume growing up to 50 cm high
- Leaves in three's and are covered by soft gray hairs
- Bright yellow flowers in loose spikes that bloom early in the season
- Gives the milk an odd taste and smell if consumed by cows
- Children can get very sick from eating the fruit
- Found in ditches and on dry slopes
- Found at Stop 2
