Field mint
Mentha arvensis L. var. villosa (Benth.) S.R. Stewart
Plant Description:
- Straight, square-stemmed plant with hairs along each corner of the stem, growing up to 50 cm tall
- Leaves are opposite from each other and covered with dots
- Pink flowers grow around the stem at the leaf axils
- Found in sloughs and wet areas
- Leaves can be made into tea or can be chewed on
- Mint can be used to treat stomach pains, headaches and fevers
- Found at Stop 8
