Mentha arvensis L. var. villosa (Benth.) S.R. Stewart

 

Plant Description:

  • Straight, square-stemmed plant with hairs along each corner of the stem, growing up to 50 cm tall
  • Leaves are opposite from each other and covered with dots
  • Pink flowers grow around the stem at the leaf axils
  • Found in sloughs and wet areas
  • Leaves can be made into tea or can be chewed on
  • Mint can be used to treat stomach pains, headaches and fevers
  • Found at Stop 8
