Dandelion
Taraxacum officinale Weber
Plant Description:
- Introduced, very noticable, weedy species with only a flower stem (no plant stem)
- All ground level leaves are triangular and toothed
- Very deep, tough roots
- Flower stem, filled with a milky substance, has a solitary yellow ray flower
- Occurs everywhere - lawns, disturbed sites and roadsides
- Cree made into a tea to purify the blood and to treat anemia, jaundice and nervousness
- Can be eaten raw in salads or cooked
- High content of vitamins A and C
- Found at Stops 1 through 12
