Plant Description:

  • Hairy, straight and rough-stemmed plant growing up to 60 cm tall
  • Leaves are round-bottomed, narrowing to a rounded point at the tip.
  • Lower leaves are stalked while upper ones are smaller and stalkless
  • Yellow ray flowers surrounding a dark brown centre; one flower per stalk
  • Widespread, dry prairie plant
  • Found at Stop 1
