Not all spiders construct webs to capture prey. Wolf spiders are swift-footed hunters, which run down their prey. They have good vision, and a well-developed sense of touch. Wolf spiders are commonly seen during their travels and are found hiding beneath stones and logs. Silk is used only to spin a round egg sac, which the female carries attached to her spinnerets.
