Plant Description:

  • Widespread, upright, very conspicuous plant growing up to 1 m tall
  • Leaves are heart-shaped at bottom and narrow to a pointed tip
  • Flowers are in very dense clusters for most of the stem; fruits are reddish-brown
  • Occurs in wet areas
  • Stems can be cooked and eaten in the same was as rhubarb
  • The yellow roots can be used to make a yellow dye
  • Found at Stops 8 and 10
