Slender wheatgrass
Agropyron trachycaulum (Link) Malte.

 

Plant Description:

  • Slender, upright grass growing up to 1 m tall
  • Spikes are stiff and may be slightly curved
  • Sheaths have a purplish base; blades are rough surfaced
  • Occurs in moist areas, ravines and open prairies
  • Good forage grass; grains are also good ground as flour
  • Found at Stops 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, and 11
