Lesser burdock
Arctium minus (Hill) Bernh.
Plant Description:
- Introduced weed growing as tall as 2 m
- Large, heart-shaped leaves
- Many purple flower heads
- Bracts below flowers are green and have rigid hooks
- Seeds are in burs, which easily grip onto clothes and passing animal fur for dispersal
- Occurs in moist areas such as marshes
- Found at Stops 3 and 12
